Your WordPress Real Estate website content is limited only by your ability to create it. We often think about what we want to tell people about our real estate business on our websites. But we really need to consider our audience. Creating quality content for your real estate business is key to your business marketing strategy. What do they want to know? How do we offer the type of information that they will continue to come back for?
One strategy for content is to leverage social media and gather content ideas. Create keyword lists that are relevant to your business. Then search those terms on Twitter or Google+ and see what is being talked about. Review articles that have been mentioned and share your thoughts in a blog post.
Another strategy is to subscribe to feeds on relevant websites. Schedule time to read new content on other sites and make notes on relevant information for your readers. Become the “resource” person for what’s being talked about on your business category. Offer helpful hints on what’s new in your industry.
Google Alerts
Monitor the web for new content. Create a Google Alert that is sent to your email and updates you on the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your queries. Follow these steps:
- Go to http://www.google.com/alerts
- Enter a search query you wish to monitor. You will see a preview of the type of results you’ll receive. Review the results and determine if the keywords you selected offer the results you expected.
- Select the remainder of the options.
- Create alert.
You will receive an email similar to the preview information at the frequency you requested. Review the email to help you develop content.
Leveraging social media for content generation is like being a detective. You can use Twitter lists, LinkedIn discussions, Google+ and Google hangout conversations to determine what’s being talked about. This can usually indicate interest, which helps you with your content strategy.
Content Curation
One of the hottest topics on the internet. Understanding the difference between content curation and content creation can be a critical distinction for a business trying to position itself as a thought leader.
Content curation is the process of finding, collecting, organizing and sharing relevant information from across the web centered on a specific topic.
Content creation is the process of creating fresh content that is unique and that the writer is trying to educate or inform the reader about.
One of the key features of content curation is that you can collect information relevant to your topic and target a specific audience. You can then enhance the information by offering your opinions and/or advice.
While many people think of content curation as a form of data collection, Pinterest has shown us that content curation can be very visual. As more brands continue to adopt this new platform, visual boards of content are offering quicker options to view new products, trends and more. And these visual boards can represent fashion, home furnishings, automobiles, travel, food; but they can also represent conferences, fonts, infographics, and so much more. The visual representation is then what can entice the visitor to read more when they click on the images.
