I recently suggested that Facebook apps are a better way to share blog content. I believe that content on your website is more important to your business, and SERPs, than it is on social media. Once you create your content, you can share it to social media. I also believe that anything you share on social media should be consistent with your brand. So I customize the apps on Facebook to represent my brand. First I select the apps I want featured. As Facebook has changed, so have the page contents. Currently, you can show 3 apps on your page, but you can have more than 3 apps. You need to ensure that the 3 apps you want featured are the first 3 apps listed.
Here is how you do that:
- Open your Facebook page
- Click on Settings
-
Click Apps in the left column
- Below each app is an option to Edit Settings. Click on that option below the app you want to customize.
- Create the tab image you want to appear. The size for the tab is 111px x 74px. Once you create the image, save as a png or jpg file to upload to Facebook.
- From the Edit Settings screen, click on Change to upload your custom app image.
- Once you upload your image, it will appear on your screen.
That’s it! You can repeat for each of your tabs to create custom tabs for all of your apps.
